Internship Description

Ideal candidate will be introduced to managing privileged and confidential information, learning complex issues quickly, juggling competing demands and deadlines, and in both written and verbal communication. The candidate will spend approximately 12 to 15 hours a week, reporting to the Account Manager as well as the President. There will be travel outside of the office for client meetings as well as events that are hosted. This will give the candidate field experience as well as a great opportunity for networking.


  • Relevant experience/education in public relations, public affairs, and social media
  • Must be self-directed and reliable in planning and completion of tasks

  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively, and take initiative

  • Ability to develop, manage, and execute the implementation of complex public affairs communications campaigns with an emphasis on strategy and reputation management

  • Engage in all facets of media relations to secure coverage for clients

  • Excellent computer, writing and editing skills—PowerPoint plan development, news releases, fact sheets, talking points, executive briefing documents

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change without notice

  • Strong research, writing, editing, media pitching, and communication skills

  • Database development and maintenance
