Internship Description

Pay Range: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour.

Shift: Day

Main Functions:

To learn what Fralock does so that you can be an effective part of the Engineering Team.
Design, develop, test, and evaluate manufacturing processes. This includes design and fabrication of tooling and fixtures that can adapt to current equipment.
Assist in prototype development of new projects.
Evaluate current manufacturing processes to analyze if a higher quality product can be made at a lower internal cost to the company.
Research new and existing materials to check for the functionality and feasibility of customer part design in relation to the designed manufacturing plan.

Duties:

Research new and existing materials to check for the functionality and feasibility of customer part design in relation to the designed manufacturing plan.
Work on projects that will reduce lead times and internal manufacturing costs.
Work on a computer using Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred Skills:

A hands on mechanical aptitude
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Justin-Time, Kanban principles
Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100

Required Skills:

Strong computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
To have the ability to problem solve
The understanding to read blueprints

Education Requirements:

Bachelors degree in engineering or any related field.

Experience Requirements:

0-5 years in a manufacturing environment

Experience in one or more related engineering areas: manufacturing, industrial, production, or quality
