Internship Description

EHS Co-Op engages in a variety of activities in a wide range of EHS disciplines. Under the mentorship of Quality Director and HR, EHS Co-Op undertakes projects directed at specific topics such as equipment safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, sustainability and training & education. Candidate works closely with multiple teams ranging from production to engineering to provide EHS support to day-to-day operations, conduct safety walkthroughs and audits, deliver safety trainings to employees, participate in analyses of workplace incidents and help drive corrective actions.

 

EHS Co-Ops has a genuine passion for the health and safety of people, respect for our environment and a deep desire to learn and acquire knowledge and skills related to environment, health, safety and sustainability. EHS co-op interacts with a variety of individuals and establishes and maintains professional working relationships with internal and external customers.

Requirements:

Must be pursuing a 4 year degree in EHS, Environmental sciences, or Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Understands, adhere to and demonstrates the company's commitment to Safety and the
  • Develops and provides leadership of best practices regarding EHS work behaviors, to assist with the continual improvement of a lean safety
  • Performs EH&S meetings and inspections, accident investigations and addresses employee safety
  • Conducts risk management
  • Follows up on corrective action items from investigations, audits and hazard
  • Reviews and participates in completing environmental reports and permits for local, state and federal
  • Provides daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee I supervisor level to ensure a

common and effective approach.

  • Maintains and updates SOP's/Work Instructions as needed for all safe work practices and equipment and utilizes them in the day to day
  • Performs and contributes to the Site Training Plans by conducting employee orientations; emergency response training; and coordination of modular training programs for the Operation as well as other
  • Addresses duties as
